Been a long time coming

Well, things have finally slowed down, and I can concentrate on the important things like lawn care, tanning, and evening evaluations of domestic and international beers.

Humor aside, I do have some studying to do, driving to get accomplished, and basic maintenance to get done. Which leads me to the crux of the posting you are translating from graphical representations of symbols, into thoughts and comprehension of ideas. Please keep in mind that as I write this, I am doing so in "rough draft mode" because if I go back a review, I remove a lot, and then the meaning is lost. If you have any questions, let me know.

Politics. Since my postings of November and January, we can see the end from here. Regardless of the November elections this year, we are seeing the demise of the founding principles the Founders envisioned. I am still of the opinion that everyone is created with the equal right to become unequal. That is -if you work hard, live within your means, and take care of your needs to ensure you can be a productive member of society, you should live your life unencumbered of others dictating where, how and why you should surrender portions of your hard work to those who in many cases refuse to work. Don't get me wrong, there will always be those that due to injury, or birth complications cannot provide for themselves at some point in their lives; Christian/Judea principles need to be applied. However, for those who feel they have an entitlement to my hard work's reward need to be forced to accept the fact that they are a societal parasite that gets the next benefit, and expects the next one, then the next one after that.

I would like to put out there that I have collected unemployment funds for 13 weeks. Money that I contributed to the system over my careers, and still contribute today. It is there for a reason. That having been said, the current evaluation of an extension of benefits to bring some recipients up to 99 weeks of benefits is going to far. I am personally aware of an individual who receives these payments and has yet to seek full time employment, or totally remove himself from the rolls of the unemployed. He has a part-time job, and has no ambition or spoken desire to seek a full-time job. He is now "concerned" that he might be in trouble if the benefits run out as he reaches the end of the line of the government gravy train.

The next topic is that of the Federal deficit. The individual that occupies the Oval Office has no problem throwing dollars at a problem to see if it fixes it. Unfortunately those dollars haven't been printed yet, and there seems to be fewer people inline to want to buy those t-bills and help finance our debt. As we lumber our way towards a $14 Billion debt, we decide that we are going to support automobile manufacturers, give everyone healthcare, and are now considering doing something about the illegal immigrant issue -which I imagine will just be to give them amnesty and then lock down the borders -thus eliminating the problem of what to do with the illegals that are here now.

Yes, this seems like a rant (which I am guilty of from time to time), but these are the facts; plain and simple. The Tea Party Movement is a great idea, and has sent a message to a lot of moderate Republicans of "get off the fence and choose a side" but a lot more needs to be done. My predictions for the next two years: The repeal of Healthcare won't happen; taxes are going to skyrocket at both the Federal, state, and school levels; jobs will move in greater numbers to overseas locations, and those that are left (those that don't have clue -which is a majority from what I have seen) will be scratching their heads (or rumps in some cases) wondering what happened, and why our country is worse than it currently is today.

A friend mentioned today that this is not the same country he remembers growing up in, or serving for, or promised as a citizen. I think he is right. We may be better off converting our statuses to undocumented residents (a.k.a. illegal aliens). We then might get to enjoy the benefits this country provides.

Told you I was still here.
