Has anyone read the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution? I mean, has anyone read it and understood it? It seems to me that while the ACLU, and other secularist groups invoke the fact that there shall be no establishment of a religion, it is followed by the statement that there shall be no impingement of the right to worship.
Now I understand that this later part covers all of the religions/beliefs/practices that celebrate a higher being, or some other deity, where does the government get off imposing their view of what is appropriate and what is not? I thought that the government wasn't supposed to impinge upon those rights?
I celebrate Christmas. I celebrate the birth of my Saviour Jesus Christ and his birth on this planet to save us all. I believe that he gave his life on the cross to wash away our sins with his blood. I believe that he waits for all of us at the Throne of God to judge us as we approach. Challenge me on this if you want. I may not have the answer you are seeking, but I will not waiver in my faith, or give in to your accusations, peer pressure, or harassment. I do not have to please you.
IMHO, I believe that there are secularists out there who do believe. I think that they know there is a Heaven, and that they enter the Throne room and they get to plead their case. -OR- they believe, and are just trying to ignore that little voice in their head telling them of all of the little doubts they have; of how they can disprove the existence of God by showing some scientific fact that disproves the Bible accounts of what happened. Sure, you can tell me of the fossils, and carbon dating all the way to Sunday. There is this little thing called faith. I have faith. Faith that people will disappoint me, things will break, time will pass. I also have faith that my sins have been paid for in full. I hope I lived a life that will allow me to enter into the Kingdom.
So I guess (getting back to the original point of this entry) that the ultimate question of this post is this:
Do you believe that your rights, guaranteed by the Constitution, should be invaded by a secularist group who's purpose is only to make themselves, and everyone else feel good about themselves without guilt, or should you be able to practice your faith, and share this word with everyone who is willing to hear. I am not saying that I will, or others will force this down your throat -But you should at least know what the good word says.
