I may be a little late with this posting, but why is the President in such a hurry to get the government run health care package through Congress? Now that we are in the August recess for the Congress, the liberal Democrats are figuratively pointing their fingers and screaming that all who oppose their plan are Nazis, fear mongers, and radicals (but when they opposed the government back in the 60s-70s they claimed they were speaking out to make their voices heard).
I believe that the President also said in the early days of the stimulus packages, that 'there is no perfect bill', but implied it was imperative to get something out there to remedy the situation. Is this bill any different? Is it a perfect bill? Is it easily and quickly fixed? Are we being misinformed by the press? If this is the case, why are so many Senators and Congressmen canceling, or avoiding any direct contact with their constituents? (All of these questions are rhetorical)
In comments that he (Mr. Obama) made in response to a woman explaining the plight of her grandmother receiving a pacemaker, the answer shocked almost everyone. Take some pain pills, and wait to die was the long an short of the answer he gave. Do the movies Logan's Run, or Soylent Green come to mind?
I need to point out that President Obama is looking to make history as more than being the first black president. He is looking to create a legacy program for which he will be remembered by, much like FDR created Social Security.
Will the government loot this program too so it can be bankrupt when our grandchildren get it?
Nothings changed.
